Macy’s Hosts Sixth Annual Shop For A Cause


Macy’s today announced its sixth annual Shop For A Cause charity shopping event, which has raised more than $38 million for local charities across the country since 2006. Macy’s Shop For A Cause is a unique one-day-only shopping event created to support local charities’ fundraising efforts. More than 8,000 charities across the country will be participating in the shopping event. This year’s Shop For A Cause will take place at all Macy’s stores and on macys.comon Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, and also on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, in select stores only.

By purchasing a $5 shopping pass to the event, customers support their favorite causes and receive 25 percent off most regular, sale and clearance purchases in the store or online all day Saturday, Aug. 27. Plus, customers have the chance to win a $500 shopping spree. Some exclusions apply; see shopping pass for complete details. Each nonprofit organization participating in the shopping event will keep 100% of every ticket it sells.

Shop For A Cause passes sold at all Macy’s stores beginning Aug. 20 through Aug. 27, 2011, and at macys.com on Aug. 27, 2011, will benefit the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, is the exclusive national beneficiary of this year’s event. Shopping passes are also available at the March of Dimes website atwww.marchofdimes.com/shopforacause from now through Aug. 27, 2011.
